2010 Inaugural Spirit of '45 Day
a Big Success!
Seward Johnson sculpture moved into Times Square for first ever Spirit of '45 Day celebration

The first annual National Spirit of ’45 Day was a tremendous success!

Seventy-six members of Congress co-sponsored Spirit of '45 Day in the House of Representatives where it passed unanimously on July 26th.  Maine Senator Susan Collins, Hawaii Senator Dan K. Inouye, New Jersey Senator Frank Lautenberg, and North Carolina Senator Richard Burr introduced Spirit of '45 Day in the Senate where it also passed unanimously on August 5th.

Thanks to the efforts dedicated individuals and groups across the nation, hundreds of communities came together to honor our World War II generation, and to pledge to carry on their legacy.
